It's time for Hammond Explosion from Germany. This BASF-Cornet release is probably my all time favourite fleamarket find, big hammondfunk fan as I am. Masterpiece of Dieter Reith was released in 1974 and the lp is filled with storming hammonds and super tight drums.
First track to be posted here is called My Kind of Sunshine which starts with ease. However don't let the beginning confuse you, because the real deal starts shortly and then accelerates up, up and through the ceiling. Just funk at it's best in my opinion. The feeling of this track reminds me of library lp's which are allways welcome to my turntables.
The other track from Hammond Explosion is called No No No. A catching brass-drum-hammond -combo all the way to the end. Flavoured with breaks at the beginning and in the middle.

Chigago based Soulful Strings combines funky drumbeats and basslines with string arrangements. When I found their String Fever album I was sort of sceptic, but when listening to the opening track Zambezi, it really got me interested. It was something really original and totally new sound of funk or soul for me. Groovy flute on these both tracks played by Lenny Druss is something that I've always liked. You listen and decide yourself.
String Fever was released by Cadet records in 1969. In my opinion it’s got two tracks that stand up from the others: Zambezi and Chocolate Candy. Here you go.

We continue with another mellow groover, just getting the tempo a little bit up from last week. This weeks timeless tune is Faded Lady by S.S.O featuring Douglas Lucas & The Sugar Soul Sisters. Published by Shady Brook records in 1976.Good lp over all, but this one stands out not being classic disco.

Here we go.
The idea of this blog is simple.
I've been collecting records for seven years. As I started digging I had a feeling that finnish fleamarkets are dry what it comes to old groovy records. I knew that recordjunkies in 1990's bought massive amounts of good and sometimes even rare/valuable records from fleamarkets.
Thus my expectations were not that high. But little by little I started finding some interesting records. This blog will act as sort of a diary or memoir about my trips to fleamarkets. I want to share good "forgotten" music with you and show that even the most obscure looking lp's might just have one killer groove in them.
Genres that I'm after when I hit the crates are soul, funk, disco, boogie, easylistening, 60-70's pop and so on; everything with good rhythm and groove.
I'm not going to post full albums because ripping them would be nightmare. I just pick one or two personal favourites and hope you'll like them.
Tunes will be up soon, when I get the player working properly.
Thanks for my man mizako for technical and photographical support.
